Having a ball at the Clarion Hotel....

Met a great bunch of people at a ball in the Clarion Hotel recently. The ball was organised in aid of the Ear, Nose and Throat, Head and Neck Unit of the South Infirmary Victoria University Hospital (that's all a bit of a mouthful!)
There was a big family/friends contingent that I was seated with so I felt like I was gate-crashing a wedding sometimes - but everyone was really nice.
Below is Katherina who was sitting next to me on one side in her pretty baby blue dress....

while below is Leighann, Aoife and moi....
....No the potatoes weren't all for me...!

Best buds Katherina and Leighann above, while below is one of the ball's organisers Ciara with her boyfriend Robbie. It was a masquerade ball, hence the elaborate mask!
...and below is Robbie's brother James with girlfriend Orla....
....and a bunch of us on the dance-floor....

A lot of fun..... and thanks to Leighann for the pics!

Good luck Margaret!

The fabulous Margaret O'Sullivan who has tirelessly worked for the Irish Cancer Society for the past 28 years, has recently left the charity organisation. After some rest and relaxation (and several rounds of golf!) Margaret will be considering her options - and for someone with her energy, knowledge and connections, she will definitely have many options! I have always found her an absolute pleasure to liase with and look forward to doing so again in the future. We had a lovely going away do in the Cornstore - plus about 30 minutes in the Bodega before closing time... but here is a pic of the pair of us at The Butterfly Ball in The Radisson SAS Hotel recently. I was MC for the night and Mark Daly, presenter of RTE's 'Home Salvage', conducted an auction. The ball, organised by former Cork Rose Trish Cotter and her Butterfly Wings committee, raised money for the Night Nurse programme of the Irish Cancer Society. Many thanks to The Radisson's Colette O'Callaghan too for extending the invitation to stay over - which led to a sing-song in the residents bar of course... and hence not quite enough sleep on those lovely comfy pillows!

Irish Cancer Society Ball

Like I said last time, many events were organised for cancer charities over the past few months. One of the main ones was the Irish Cancer Society ball at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Little Island. Celebrity lawyer Gerald Kean, pictured below (centre) was guest speaker for the evening. Gerald is solicitor to the stars, including Duran Duran; is dating Michael Flatley's former squeeze Lisa Murphy and is currently managing the Mayfield GAA team for reality TV series 'Celebrity Bainnisteoir'. Oh and has more money than you could shake a stick at....! Also pictured is the lovely Trish Larkin, a volunteer with the Irish Cancer Society.

My good friend Adrienne was also there in her fab floaty blue dress from Coast....
While former Cork hurler Tomas Mulcahy was MC for the evening, pictured below with Gerald...
And below are Radisson Hotel management with members of Irish Cancer Society... including Margaret O'Sullivan, stunning in red, Phil McKenna in vibrant tourqoise, Colette O'Callaghan in silver-grey satin and Nicola Fardy in chic black. I was at the Radisson table and had a great time with them... before ultimately taking to dance-floor to work off the delicious meal!
