Tis the Season for Pampering!

All this week on 'The Red Zone' we're giving away half day packages for AquaSpa Douglas and Bishopstown. This follows on from other treats from the spa that we had to give away last week on the show. And what better time of year for it, with all the stresses and strains leading up to Christmas... well you know, all that shopping, queueing in shops, traffic jams, parking chaos... and maybe you're baking cakes and getting bogged down in Christmas decorations too.... Oh help! Well help is at hand... The half day package includes Balneotherapy, refresher facials, body treatment and lunch. Listen during the week for questions and text to win!

Well I had to do a little bit of research (ahem) so in the past few weeks I have visited both of the AquaSpa locations in Cork - first the newly opened premises on Model Farm Road, next to McCarthy's Bar and Bistro. I was treated to a back and shoulder massage and had my nails filed and painted as well. It was nice to chill out in the relaxation room too - listening to music and sipping juice in my fluffy white robe.
At the Douglas branch I had a skin consultation under uv light - pretty scary to see actually. I discovered I had lots of pigmentation - like multiple freckles really. Although I'm not a crazy sun worshiper, I guess my skin protection policy needs to be stepped up. Happily, the beauty therapist saw little signs of ageing... and even thought that I must be a regular exfoliator or facial fan... not the case. So I must be doing something right! It was all very interesting anyway.
