And so this is Christmas...
During the week on my show I got to talk to model Samina Zia who is recently back from a trip to Calcutta with the Hope Foundation, a charity that works with street children there. We are all aware that Christmas time is a time of joy for most of the children in our society - but Samina's tales were harrowing. She was stunned by the extent of the poverty and is very keen to continue her association with the Hope Foundation in the future. Here she is with one of the babies from the slums. Expect her to tell of her experiences again in the January issue of RSVP magazine.
Meanwhile, we at 96&103FM had our Christmas party on Friday night at the Imperial Hotel - and a great night was had by all. I forgot to bring my camera - unusual for me - but perhaps I will be e-mailed on some from my colleagues in due course, in which case I'll post some up here.
Can't wait for the Christmas break - I've been working non-stop in three different jobs and some time off is long over-due. All I want to do is relax by the fire, spend time with family and friends in a very low-key way and of course indulge in the usual eating and TV-watching. Not to mention getting loads of sleep!
Merry Christmas to all who visit the blog.... have a wonderful time... and let's talk again in 2008!
